B.O.F 2018 OUTLOOK

Busaosowo Foundation began its operations in Kebbi State in February, 2018 poised with the objective of identifying and responding to the issues affecting youths, families and national development. One of the first things that worried us was the level of street begging. Surprisingly, a large number of those begging were those with disabilities. In response to this, we began #PROJECT#DAP- The Disabled Are People Too with the intent of helping persons with disability get integrated into the society. We began by launching advocacy programs on television persuading the society to see these special persons as people created by God and deserving a good life. We encouraged persons with disability to see themselves as having all it takes to be self-reliant. The television program ran for six months. In the same month we began operation, three of our team members volunteered as youth development coaches at the Kebbi State School of Special Needs where numerous personality development and...

Inspiring Greatness

"THE STORY BEHIND THE SHOTS" Mr.Basiru Liman (aka Okala)was the photographer that took pictures in my platoon while I was at the NYSC camp last year. On reaching the state capital I stumbled on him at a computer outlet where he used to stay to take passports . I engaged him and began to share with the possibilities of him owning "a photo studio" looking at the fact that photography in the state is almost a monopolized business. His major fear was the capital but I encouraged him to start small. I shared with him few business tips I have learnt and he was happy and hopeful. He promised to do something about what he had heard.Few months after our discussion, he rented a place as his photo studio. I designed the logo of the business. Recently I was at his studio and we took these complimentary photos. In the last couple of weeks, we have been working to see how we can give the business firm roots in the state capital and trust me we are making progress. My g...
