BUSAOSOWO FOUNDATION 2019 OUTLOOK




This year started on a high note as we launched a new project on the 5th of January called PROJECT_INSPIRE.This project came to fruition because at Busaosowo Foundation we believe that the youths of our nation are strong and focus driven. Project_Inspire seeks inspire young people to action by telling stories of other young people in the nation who are responding to problems facing their community. From January 5th to December 5th,we have interviewed and published on our blog(www.bofinitiatives.blogspot.com) twelve stories of social entrepreneurs representing twelve nonprofit organizations. These organizations since their inception have impacted over 81,534 lives nationwide and beyond.
In the month of June,we carried different drug abuse awareness campaigns addressing the root cause of substance abuse and preventive methods.We were during this period able to reach 1,507 students in seven schools in Enugu State and distributed 1,445 copies of the truth about drugs booklets.
We also introduced an award in July known as BOF(Busaosowo Foundation) INTEGRITY AWARD to encourage young people especially teenagers to choose  honesty as the highest road to walk on. The award seeks to identify and celebrate teenagers who have demonstrated acts of honesty  in their school,community or church. The first recipient of the award in the country was Master Ojiego Temple of Army Day Secondary School,Akwunanaw,Enugu State. The award comes with a package of one term school fees fully paid.
We participated in the YALI DAY OF SERVICE(July 18th) by carrying out an environmental sanitation at Little Sisters of the Poor Home of the Elderly ,Enugu. The home houses over 50 elderly persons.
On the 1st of October, we hosted a public discourse for women and mothers on the challenges of young people and their roles in solving them.There were 44participants,3speakers and 4panelists from twelve organizations namely: TAMAR-SARC,STEWARDS OF GRACE MINISTRY,NDLEA,NAPTIP,SCM UNEC,NSCDC,FRSC,FIDA,PEACE HOUSE,CITY GIRLS SECONDARY SCHOOL,GIRLS GUIDE,DIOCESAN WOMEN ORGANIZATION.

This year,we had two partners - Pookers Editing and Literary World(our official editor for Project Inspire) and Rhema Graphics (our official graphic designer).

Project_Inspire Interview With Okolo Ikechukwu
