COVID-19 : A Better Story

A major excuse of parents who do not spend quality time with their children is lack of time. Their job ,business and the pressure to make money continuously drive them away from their children.  Now in the midst of a national lockdown, I ask you :WHAT IS STILL HOLDING YOU FROM BEEN WITH YOUR CHILDREN? This is the time to make up for the time you have lost already with them in the parenting process. No more travels and earlier morning appointments . And even if your job involves essential services, the pressure is a  bit on the decrease because of our present reality. Instead of letting your house help bath and feed them this period,DO IT YOURSELF. Look at your children, observe the changes in their bodies,language and mood. BUSAOSOWO FOUNDATION 2019 OUTLOOK

This year started on a high note as we launched a new project on the 5th of January called PROJECT_INSPIRE .This project came to fruition because at Busaosowo Foundation we believe that the youths of our nation are strong and focus driven. Project_Inspire seeks inspire young people to action by telling stories of other young people in the nation who are responding to problems facing their community. From January 5th to December 5th,we have interviewed and published on our blog(www.bofinitiatives.blogspot.com) twelve stories of social entrepreneurs representing twelve nonprofit organizations. These organizations since their inception have impacted over 81,534 lives nationwide and beyond. In the month of June,we carried different drug abuse awareness campaigns addressing the root cause of substance abuse and preventive methods.We were during this period able to reach 1,507 students in seven schools in Enugu State and distributed 1,445 copies of the truth about drugs booklets. Ever heard of a private sickle-cell disorder(SCD) clinic in Nigeria? We haven't about any. But we are delighted to introduce to you Chioma Precious Ejimofor, Founder of JIDEM Foundation, who runs two private SCD clinics in Nigeria. In this interview with PROJECT_INSPIRE, Chioma speaks about what it is like to be sickle-cell disorder patients in Nigeria and what she is doing to alleviate their sufferings.
